Poets wax magnificent over the coming of this precious season!
The rest of the world dreads it because it means the arrival of POLLEN! Pollen from trees and grasses and flowers - all of it aimed directly at your nose and sinuses and lungs.
What’s the problem? Allergies!
Or your sweetie asks you out to dinner and you go to a nice restaurant. But before you can order from the menu, you have to ask “Is there any shrimp in this?” Or “Are there any mushrooms in this?” Or “Is there any wheat in this?”
Why do you have to ask? Allergies!
Or maybe you'd like to have a glass of California Merlot or a nice Australian Shiraz. Nope not tonight. You just can't bear the headache you'll get from the sulfites in the wine.
Or you're sitting in the movies and someone who just came in and sat down in front of you is wearing perfume and you immediately start to sneeze and you might even have to move if the sneezing continues for too long because the very person who's wearing that distressing perfume will turn around and glare at you for making so much noise.
Does that nice cold glass of milk cause you some intestinal distress? Maybe you could try soy milk instead. Oops! That's no good either. It seems to have the same result as the regular milk.
Why? Allergies!
Some people call them sensitivities or intolerances but the result is the same. Can't drink the milk. Can't eat the lobster. Can't drink the wine.
These things just seem to be pervasive today. You probably don’t know anyone who isn’t allergic to something. Did you ever stop to wonder why?
Well, first of all, what is an allergy?
Medical scientists are still researching to find the exact cause and nature of these distressing inconveniences to our daily lives but they probably won't have all the answers for years to come.
From a Western medical point of view, an allergy is an over-reaction to some substance by your immune system. And, frequently, the Western medical professional will try to treat the symptoms that come as a result of this over-reaction of your immune system instead of looking behind the symptoms for the true cause. For example, instead of looking for the cause of a cough, the practitioner might just give you something to stop the cough. Well, ok, you're not coughing now, but are you any weller than you were before? Probably not. And, in fact, the suppression of the symptom might even lead to long-term difficulties and cause you to be less well in the long run. This doesn't sound to me like a good approach to healing.
But an allergy can also be viewed from a whole body perspective based on Oriental medical principles. From that perspective, it is a condition of unusual sensitivity of an individual to one or more substances which may be harmless to the majority of other individuals. Which is why you can eat the shrimp and lobster dinner with impunity but your brother cannot. You're not sensitive to shellfish but he is. And that's why he can drink the glass of wine but you can't. He's not sensitive to the sulfites but you are.
If you are the allergic person, the allergic substance, known as an allergen, is viewed by your brain as a threat to your own body's well-being. Your brain thinks your body is being attacked and it responds to protect itself. An allergy can be defined in terms of what a substance does to the energy flow in your body.
When you make contact with an allergen, your body’s energy pathways or meridians become blocked. The normal flow of energy through your body's electrical circuits becomes disrupted.
This energy blockage causes interference in communication between your brain and your body. This blocked energy flow is the first step in a chain of events which can develop into what you would call an allergic response. These kinds of responses are the result of energy imbalances in your body, leading to a diminished state of health in one or more of your organ systems. And the response you are having is just one more symptom of that imbalance or energy blockage.
And that’s a pretty complicated way of saying that some substances cause bad reactions in some people and don’t bother others at all.
And the amazing thing about this is the symptoms that show up in your body may seemingly have no relationship to the allergen itself.
What would you think if I told you that a digestive allergy to wheat or gluten might cause chronic back pain? Seems pretty ridiculous, doesn’t it? But is it any more unbelievable than strawberries causing hives? No, it’s not. But that was certainly the case for me. I had a band of muscles across my lower back which would not relax for anything. Massage didn't go any good. Stretching didn't help either. When I tried to consciously relax them, the pain was intense. The very next day after I was treated for an allergy to wheat, those muscles relaxed on their own for the first time in years. Go figure.
So here's a question for you.
When you’re in the process of really getting yourself healthy and you have so many things to think about and take care of, do you really want be spending a lot of money and time dealing with symptoms caused by allergies or would you rather just get those symptoms out of the way quickly and easily so you can focus on the real issues?
Well, now that you've been introduced to the idea that it really is possible to quickly and easily do something about your unwanted responses to substances all around you in the world, I’ll bet that’s what you’ll want to do first. One of the other things I've discovered in the process of clearing allergic reactions is that there's probably a major irritant which, when it gets cleared, so reduces the stress on your immune system that other things which used to bother you, just don't bother you any more. And that makes the whole process of relieving your symptoms much easier. Find the big problem, relieve it and let the smaller problems go away on their own.
I encourage to use the resources there to find a practitioner in your area and get going on your allergy elimination therapy immediately. You will be shocked and surprised at how quick and easy this process is and at how symptoms you’ve suffered with all your life will simply disappear.
