This original stuff, this god-stuff, this formless stuff, is a thinking stuff. Thought is the only power which can motivate it to form something. The thought of a form impressed into this substance will produce the form – regardless of the form.
When a thought arises from within the god-stuff, the god-stuff moves to accommodate the thought and a form is produced. Everything we see in nature is the result of a thought from within the god-stuff. When the god-stuff thinks of a motion, it makes that motion. Everything around us was created that way. Our world is a thought world which is part of a thought universe. Our planetary systems are the result of such a thought arising within the god-stuff and manifesting as we currently see them.
Thinking substance takes the form of its thought, and moves according to the thought. Holding the idea of a circling system of suns and worlds, it takes the form of these bodies and moves them as it thinks. Thinking the form of a slow-growing oak tree, it moves accordingly and produces the tree, though centuries of our time may be required to do the work. In creating, the formless seems to move according to the lines of motion it has established. In other words, the thought of an oak tree does not cause the instant formation of a full-grown tree. What it does is put in motion the forces which will produce the tree along established lines of growth.
Every thought of form, held in the god-stuff, causes the creation of the form, but always along lines of growth and action already established.
The thought of a brick house, if it were impressed upon formless substance, might not cause the instant formation of the house, but it would cause the turning of creative energies already working in the building trades into such channels as to result in the speedy building of the house. And if there were no existing channels through which the creative energy could work, then the house would be formed directly from primal substance, without waiting for the slow processes of the organic and inorganic world.
No thought of form can be impressed upon original substance without causing the creation of the form.
As a thinking center, a person can originate a thought. Anything a person makes must first exist as a thought. A thing cannot be created until someone has thought of it. Until now, we have confined our creative efforts solely to the work of our hands as directed by our minds. We’ve done this by applying some form of labor to the material around us and the result has been that we’ve modified existing material such that it takes on new forms.
When a thought form arises in someone’s mind, then material is taken from nature to make an image of the thought form. So far, we’ve made little effort to work directly with the formless substance – to work “with the Father” - as Jesus says. Individuals haven’t thought that they could “do what they see the Father doing.” We haven’t thought that we could produce something directly from the formless substance by communicating our thoughts to it.
We are now stating that this is possible – to create directly from this formless stuff – and will show you how to do it. This assertion is based on three fundamental principles. First, there is one original formless thinking stuff or god-stuff from which all things are made.
One original substance appears to us as the many forms it has come to assume. All of the forms of nature – organic and inorganic – are expressions of the same old god-stuff. And this stuff – this god-stuff or this thought stuff – can produce in form the out-picturing of or expression of or shape of whatever thought is placed within it. A human being is a thinking center. You are a thinking center – capable of original thought. If you can infuse the thinking stuff with your thoughts, you can cause the creation of the things you think about. To summarize: There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates and fills the interspaces of the universe.
Secondly, any thought impressed firmly enough upon this thinking stuff will produce the thing that the thought represents.
Thirdly, you can form something in your mind and, by impressing your thought upon the thinking stuff, you can cause the thing you are thinking about to be created. By this time, you may be wondering if these statements you’ve been reading can be proven. They can – both by logic and by experience.
If you reason back from the phenomena of form and thought, you come to one original thinking substance, and then if you reason forward from this thinking substance, you can come to your own power to cause the formation of the thing you think about. And by experiment, you will find the reasoning true. This is the strongest proof.
If a single reader of this book gets rich by following the instructions in the book, there is the EVIDENCE that the claims put down here are valid. If every single reader of this book gets rich by following these instructions, that is POSITIVE PROOF that the claims are valid. The claims can be called true until the process fails. And this process will not fail. Every person who does exactly what this book says to do will get rich – without fail.
You have already read that you can get rich by doing things in a CERTAIN WAY and in order to do so, you must be able to think in a CERTAIN WAY. The way you DO things is a direct result of the way you THINK ABOUT things. So, in order to do things the way you want to do them, you will have become able to think the way you want to think. This is the first step toward getting rich.
And to think what YOU want to think is to think TRUTH, regardless of appearances. Each one of us has the ability to think what we want to think; this, however, requires far more effort than to think thoughts which are suggested by appearances around us. It’s easy to think like those around us are thinking. To think for ourselves requires far more effort than anything else we will EVER be called upon to do.
We run more quickly away from the effort of sustained thought than we do from anything else. Sustaining thought is hard work. And this is especially true when what we are thinking about seems contrary to appearances.
Everything you see in the physical world produces a corresponding form in your mind as you observe it. The production of this mind-form can only be prevented by holding your own TRUTH firmly in your own mind. When you look at something which might evoke thoughts of poverty in someone else’s mind, it will do the same in your mind unless you hold firmly to the TRUTH that there is no such thing as poverty; there is only abundance. When you can think of health when surrounded by what looks like disease and when you can hold the thought of abundance when what appears as lack surrounds you, you have acquired a MASTER MIND. When you can do that, you can have whatever you want. The only way to do this is to realize that behind all appearances is that thinking stuff from which all things are made and which will accept any thought impressed upon it. When you grasp the truth that any thought impressed upon this substance will take form, then YOU can so impress thoughts upon this god-stuff as to cause them to take form and become visible things.
And when this realization really takes hold, when you come to know that these statements are true, you lose all doubt and fear because you know that you can create what you want to create, you can have what you want to have and you can do and be what you want to do and be. So the first step in getting rich is to embody the three fundamental statements you read earlier. They are repeated here: There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates and fills the interspaces of the universe. A thought in this substance produces the thing that is imaged by the thought. You can form things in your thought, and, by impressing this thought upon formless substance, you can cause the thing you think about to be created.
Put aside all other concepts of the universe. Think only upon this concept of the universe until it has become your habitual thought. Read these statements again and again until you firmly believe what they say. Let no doubt of the truth of these statements creep into your mind. If those around you challenge this view of the universe, ignore them. Do not argue with them. Simply allow them to have their view and you continue with this view. Until this view has become your fundamental view of the universe, do not read or listen to anything which contradicts it. If you do, you could become confused and all your previous efforts will have been in vain.
Do not ask why these things are true nor speculate as to how they can be true. Simply take them on trust. The science of getting rich begins with the absolute acceptance of this.
