Chapter 6 - The Science of Getting Rich

Now, not driving hard bargains and not having sharp dealings doesn’t mean that you can’t have normal business dealings with others. It just means you don’t deal with them unfairly. You don’t have to give something for nothing. And you can give everyone more than you take.

That is to say the true value of what you sell may be worth much more than the actual cash value. The material your product is made from might not actually cost you what you sell it for. But if the ideas your buyer gets from the purchase give much more that what was paid, then you’ve given great use value for small cash value.

When you move from the competitive to the creative plane in your business, you must look at each of your transactions to be sure you are always giving something of more value to your customer’s life than you are taking in exchange. If you’re not, then discontinue the transaction. You don’t have to walk over anyone in your business and if you’re in a business which asks that of you, get out of it.

Give everyone more in true value than you take in cash value. Then you are adding to the life of the world by every business transaction. If you have people working for you, you must take in more in cash value than you pay out in salary but you can organize your business so that those who work for you have an opportunity for advancement and that those who wish to can advance a little more each day.

You can make your business do for your employees what this book is doing for you. You can so conduct your business that it will be a sort of ladder by which every employee who wishes may climb to riches. And it is not your fault if, given the opportunity, some choose not do so.

And please remember that just because you are to cause the creation of riches from the god-stuff which permeates and penetrates you and all there is around you, what you are to create will not simply manifest directly from the god-stuff and appear before you.

If you want a new motor scooter, for example, you will not be able to simply impress your thought of a motor scooter upon the god-stuff and have it appear in your garage while you are sleeping at night – not yet anyway. But if you want the motor scooter, hold the mental image of it and know that it is being made and is on its way to you. After you form the thought, continue to have the unquestioning faith that it is coming to you. Always think of is being yours. Claim it as yours.

It will be brought to you from out of the god-stuff by the power of the supreme intelligence impressing itself on the minds of those who can get it to you. And those who are instrumental in getting it to you must receive as much advantage from getting it to you as you will from having it.

Remember always that the thinking stuff permeates and penetrates all there is and can influence all there is. And it has the desire for a better and fuller life for you. That very desire has already caused motor scooters to be made. Millions of them have been made and millions more can be made and they will be whenever people set the process in motion by desire and faith and acting in a CERTAIN WAY. You can certainly have a motor scooter parked in your driveway and you can have lots of other things that you want and that you will use for the advancement of your life and for the lives of others.

Ask for as much as you believe you can have. Don’t hesitate. Jesus said, “It is your Father’s pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Take it. Take the kingdom for yourself. The god-stuff wants to express through you and wants you to have all that you can have in order to live the most abundant life you can live. If you impress upon your own consciousness that having abundance is in complete alignment with the wishes of the supreme consciousness for you and that with this abundance you can achieve a more complete alignment with supreme consciousness, your faith become unshakeable.

How many times have you heard glorious music and wished you could create such music yourself? How many times have you looked at a startling photograph of something vary mundane and wished you had the kind of skill to be able to turn something so mundane into something so beautiful? These urges are the urges of the god-stuff wanting to express itself through you.

The god-stuff, the divine matrix of creation wants to live and do and enjoy things through you – through all of humanity. It is begging humanity to become the vehicle for its creative energy. It is begging humanity to realize its ability to express itself and through that expression, expand itself and therefore expand the all-that is.

The god-stuff wants you to have a piano so that glorious music can pour out of your hands and glorify the all-that-is. The god-stuff wants you to have a motor scooter so that you can feel the wind as it rushes past your body and fills you with joy as you ride down the road. The god-stuff wants you to wear beautiful clothes so that you can glorify the very body given to you by the all-that is when you entered this creative plane of life. The god-stuff wants you to travel and learn and grow. If you love good food, it wants you to be sumptuously fed.



It wants all these things for you because in your enjoyment of these things, the all-that-is expands itself. The all-that-is can sing and play and feast its eyes on beauty and proclaim truth and eat good food. The apostle Paul said, “It is god that works in you to will and to do.” By your acceptance of the abundance of the earth, you allow the god-stuff to do this. Your desire for riches is the god-stuff seeking to express itself through you. Do not deny it its pleasure. Do not hesitate to ask largely. Your job is to focus on your desires and your expression of them to the all-that-is.

Many people are still holding on to the old idea that poverty and self-sacrifice are pleasing to the all-that-is. They look upon poverty as part of the plan or as a necessity of nature. They somehow have the idea that the work of the infinite intelligence has already been completed. They have the idea that there isn’t enough to go around and that, if they are to have enough themselves, someone else must have less. Or they have the idea they are not as worthy as someone else so they shouldn’t have as much. People hold on so tightly to this idea of their own unworthiness that they are even ashamed to ask for wealth. They ask for just enough to become fairly comfortable.

There was one student of this work who was told that he must get in mind a clear picture of the things he desired, so that the creative thought of them might be impressed on formless substance. He was a very poor man, living in a rented house and having only what he earned from day to day and he could not grasp the fact that all wealth was his. So, after thinking the matter over, he decided that he might reasonably ask for a new rug for the floor of his best room and a better stove to heat the house during the cold weather. Following the instructions given in this book, he obtained these things in a few months.

And then it dawned upon him that he had not asked enough. He went through the house in which he lived and planned all the improvements he would like to make in it. He mentally added a bay window here and a room there until it was complete in his mind as his ideal home and then he planned its furnishings.

Holding the whole picture in his mind, he began living in the CERTAIN WAY and moving toward what he wanted — and he owns the house now and is rebuilding it after the form of his mental image.

And now, with still larger faith, he is going on to get greater things. It has been unto him according to his faith, and so it is with you — and with all of us.
