Chapter 15 - The Science of Getting Rich

Regardless of your position in life - whether you are a physician, a teacher or a minister, a carpenter, a senator or a nurse – if your actions promote an increased sense of well-being in others and if others are aware of that, they will be attracted to you and you will get rich. The physician who holds the vision of herself as a true healer and who works toward to the complete realization of that vision with faith and purpose, as we’ve talked about so far, will, because of her condition of being in such close contact with the source of life, draw patients to herself in such numbers that wealth cannot help but follow.

The minister who has mastered the teachings presented here and who will teach his congregation in like manner, who will teach his congregation about the true science of a creative and abundant life, will draw to him all the listeners his place of worship can contain. And when he joins these teachings with the teachings of becoming healthy, of being a great human being and of winning love, people will gladly join him and make liberal donations to his church.

Our society today needs desperately a demonstration of the science of life from the people it looks to as its spiritual teachers. We need spiritual teachers who can not only tell us how to live our lives but who can show us in their own lives how to live our lives. We need our teachers to become rich using the creative methods we are learning so that we may see for ourselves that these methods work. And when these teachers become available to us, they will find themselves with a large and attentive following.

The same is true of a teacher who can inspire children with faith and purpose, with the sure knowledge that there is more for them when they operate their lives in the creative mode than when they operate on the field of competition. And any teacher who carries such teachings as the basis of his or her own life cannot help but extend these teachings to the children.

What is true of the teacher, preacher and physician is true of the lawyer, dentist, real estate broker, insurance agent — of everybody. The combined mental and personal action described here is infallible; it cannot fail. Every single person who follows these instructions steadily, perseveringly and to the letter, will get rich. The law of the increase of life is as mathematically certain in its operation as is the law of gravity. Getting rich is an exact science.

A day laborer will find these words to be just as true as anyone else will. Just because you don’t currently see the chance for advancement and your wages are small, don’t feel that you don’t have the chance to get rich. Start where you are. Form your clear mental vision and cling to it with faith and purpose and let your actions arise from that faith and purpose. Do every single thing you do to the best of your ability. Make each action you take a successful action in its own right. Put the power of success and the purpose to get rich behind everything you do.

While you are acting in this manner, do not act merely so that your boss will see your actions and promote you or give you more money. That’s probably not going to happen. When an employer has a good worker, the employer wants to keep that good worker doing good work. That is where the employer sees value. You are worth more to your employer where you are than you would be in a higher position. So to advance in your job, you must become too large for your job. It must be your doing only, not your employer’s doing.

As a worker, you will advance when you have become the one who is too big for the job, when you have a clear concept of the future, when you know what you want to be and when you are determined to BE what you want to be.





So don’t try to fill your current job in order to please your employer. Do it with the idea of advancing yourself. While you’re working, hold your own vision of your advancement. Hold that same vision during lunch, before work and after work. Hold that vision so that every single person who comes into contact with you will see and feel your vision radiating from you. They may not recognize what they are seeing but they will be attracted to you and if there truly is no place for advancement in your present job, very soon an opportunity will arise for you to have another job which will being you closer to the actualization of your vision.

The all-that-is can never fail to present opportunity to the one who is moving in accordance with law. When you act in the CERTAIN WAY, the all-that-is cannot help but help you. The all-that-is is bound to help you grow in order to help itself grow.

Neither your current circumstances nor the circumstances around you can keep you down when you act in the CERTAIN WAY. If you cannot get rich working for the local chicken farmer, then you can get rich by having your own farm. If you feel yourself to be in the “clutches” of someone or something else, you can use the CERTAIN WAY to move yourself in another direction and with faith and purpose in your own vision, you can manifest it in your life.

Regardless of the company, if hundreds of its employees would live their lives in the CERTAIN WAY, the company would soon be in an untenable situation. It would either have to give its employees more opportunity or go out of business. A company can only keep its employees under its domination while they do not know about or are not practicing the science of getting rich. Because as soon as you begin the practices described in this book, as soon as you begin thinking and acting with faith and purpose, you will be quick to see any opportunity to better your condition. And the more powerfully you practice these methods, the more quickly such opportunities will come to you. For the all-that-is which works in all of us and is working in and for you will bring them speedily to you.

Don’t wait for an opportunity to be all that you want to be. When an opportunity to be more than you are now is presented and you feel impelled toward it, take it. It’ll be the first step toward an even greater opportunity.

In this universe which is based on creativity and growth of the individual and which grows as you grow, there is no lack of opportunity for anyone who is living the principles you have been learning. It is inherent in the makeup of the cosmos that if you take a single step toward your own greatness using the principles of a creative life, the cosmos will take AT LEAST one step toward you. Do not think that because you are a day laborer or a wage earner that you have no chance with this method of acquiring riches. The all-that-is does not distinguish between you and anyone else. You may use this method of learning with the confidence that it will work for you as well as for anyone else. It will not fail.
