Chapter 16 - The Science of Getting Rich

For many people, the idea that there is an exact science to getting rich will be considered ridiculous. They feel that there is a limited supply of wealth, that there are only certain ways to obtain it and that only certain people can obtain it. They will insist that society and government structures must be changed before wealth can become widely available. And they will insist that people can’t just LEARN to become rich. This is not true.

It is true that under existing governmental structures, most people do not SEEM to have access to wealth. But this is because most of us, as individuals, do not think and act in the CERTAIN WAY. When you begin to recognize the power you have to draw to you exactly what you want, no government, no corporation, no entrenched interest can keep you from doing exactly that. When you have firmly grasped the idea that you can become rich, when you have faith that this is so, nothing can possibly keep you from it. You may start down the path of the CERTAIN WAY at any time, under any government and make yourself rich. And when enough people have realized this and have begun to do it for themselves, the existing systems will begin to change so that it becomes possible for more people to do it.

When people get rich on the competitive playing field, others get hurt. When people get rich on the creative playing field, everyone benefits. Mass economic freedom will be achieved when a large number of people begin to practice the methods described in this book. As more and more people make themselves rich using the creative tools presented here, it will become even easier for others to follow the same path. For the moment, it is enough for you to know that neither your government nor the financial policies it has put in place can keep you from getting rich. When you create your wealth from the creative plane, using the scientific method, you will rise above what is around you and become a resident of another level of existence.

Make a supreme effort to hold your thought patterns on the creative plane. Never allow your mind to return to the old thought that there is a limited supply of something. Never allow your spirit to return to the competitive playing field. When you see this happening to yourself, return immediately to the creative plane so that you retain the cooperation of the all-that-is who wants you and all others to benefit from the riches you are amassing.

Don’t let yourself be pulled off track by worrying about future emergencies and creating policies to manage them unless those policies might affect how you do your actions today. Do today’s work today. You can tend to tomorrow’s emergencies as they arise, if they ever do.

If you see obstacles potentially looming large in the distance, do not be concerned about them right now. If an obstacle is quite close to you, you might have to alter your actions to avoid it. Otherwise, no matter how large a distant obstacle might seem now, living and working in the CERTAIN WAY, you will find that the obstacle will somehow disappear as you approach it. You will find a way around it when that way is needed.

There is no combination of circumstances that can defeat you when you are proceeding strictly along the scientific lines presented here. No one who obeys the law can fail to get rich any more than you can add two and two and fail to get four.

Don’t waste your time or energy contemplating possible disasters or obstacles. You will be able to meet such things should they ever present themselves to you. And, in meeting them, you will find within them the ability to overcome them.

Watch your manner of speaking. Never speak of yourself, your business or anything else in a negative way. Don’t admit the possibility of failure or speak in a way that implies it might even be possible.

Don’t talk about “hard times” or doubtful business conditions. These things only exist for one who is working on the competitive plane. For you working on the creative plane, these things will never exist.

You are a creator. You can create what you want and fear is not a part of your life. Your greatest opportunities will come when others seem to be having the hardest times. Train yourself to look at the world as something that is growing and becoming – not something that is fixed and finished. Anything that seems like “evil” to others will be recognized by you as just something that is undeveloped on the creative plane. Always speak in terms of advancement. Otherwise, you are denying your faith in the creative nature of the world and to deny your faith is to lose it.



Disappointment must not be a part of your life. Just because you have an expectation that you will get a certain thing at a certain time and your expectation is not fulfilled does not mean that there has been a failure of any kind. Keep your faith and you will see that the supposed failure was a mirage.

Continue in the CERTAIN WAY and if you do not receive the thing you were looking for, you will see that you receive something better and that the seeming failure was truly a great success.

All seeming failures will work this way for you. Keep to your faith. Hold to your purpose. Have constant gratitude. And, each day, do all that can be done that day to the best of your ability to do it.

When it appears that there has been a failure, it is only because you have not asked for enough. Keep on with the work and the larger thing you were looking for will surely manifest for you. You won’t fail for lack of talent. Just follow the instructions you’ve read here and you will develop the talent you need to do what needs to be done.

It is not the purpose of this book to teach you how to develop your talent; however, even that is as sure and simple as is the process of getting rich. Don’t worry that you will come to a certain place in your process and not be able to continue because you don’t have the talent or skill to do so. Keep going and, when you get to that place, that skill will be furnished to you. Do not concern yourself as to how that will work out. Just keep it as part of your faith in this process. Abraham Lincoln was an unschooled man who went on to do some of the greatest work any country or government has ever seen. Yet, what he needed to do this work was provided for him as it will be provided for you. Move forward in full faith that what you need, will be available when you need it.

Study this book constantly. Read and re-read it. Read it each day if you can. Make it your constant companion until you have mastered it. While you’re doing this, stay away from things and people which will conflict with these new ideas. Don’t argue with anyone about this. Just make it true for in your life.

Spend most of your leisure time in contemplating your vision, in cultivating gratitude and in reading this book. It contains all you need to know of the science of getting rich, and you will find all the essentials summed up in the following chapter.
